Archived ⇒ Forums Statistics Page missing Menu Items?

When I try to go to the Forums Admin it takes me to the Forums Statistics.
Someone please help I actually noticed this when I found an anonymous user able to post in a forum they should not have been able to and I need to get those permissions corrected.
Any help is greatfully appreciated. Thanks.

Update: I also just noticed that the Forums icon in the Admin Main Menu is no longer there either. I had previously been getting to it via Admin menu in the left blocks.

I dont have a direct answer for you, but did you try to reinstall the files to your server, incase something didnt make it over?

Sounds like something is missing... but I am not sure.

If reinstalling the files doesnt resolve it, maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

I just re-uploaded the entire Forums module and all files in the admin/modules/forums folder and still get the same results.
Is anything in that folder supposed to be upcased? Just a stab in the dark there.

Update. I just deactivated Forums in the Modules menu then re-activated it. Now the icon is back but still just takes me to the Forums Statistics. Just a FYI

So this page:

Which is the forum admin: ( /admin.php?op=Forums)

www.kernphotographyass...?op=Forums
I can not see it since I am not an admin, takes you where?

Try disabling the statistics module, I dont use it, and see if you are able to reach your fourms admin page.

Statistics module deactivated. Would you believe it still goes to the Forums Statistics screen.
The command line showing for the Forums Admin option is
kernphotographyassocia...?op=forums

I figure it out!

You are at the right screen. You now can change the levels from the upper left hand corner you will see in blue, "forums" "Members", "attachements"

a drop down menu will appear, this is where you will make your forum changes.

The default view is the forum statistics. lol

let me re-do that, The command line shows
kernphotographyassocia...?op=Forums (with the upercase "F".
When I change it to a lower case on the command line I get the error:
The URL that you requested, /admin.php?op=forums, could not be found. Perhaps you either mistyped the URL or we have a broken link.

We have logged this error and will correct the problem if it is a broken link. We're sorry, but that page does not exist

did it change when you disabled something?

re-enable it.

Because that is the correct page.

You are not seeing the header bar with the links to access change your forums features.

Go to: your server delete your caches, do the same for your browser, lets get a clear page.

The try to access it.

It's not showing up that way for me, Melinda. I see:

Home General Members Messages Forums etc etc.
Under Forums it only shows Forums with the commandline as stated above.

I sure appreciate your trying, Melinda.

Here is a screen shot of where the page should take you once we figure out why the url is messing up:

As you see my mouse hovers and a submenu is accessed. See red arrows.

Now, let me know if you figure out the url

Cleared out all the caches both on the server and in my browser. Statistics is still disabled in modules.

I have spoken with a few people the conclusion we have come too is this is javascript related.

This issue and your BBcodes are both needing javascript.
When you look at your pages javascript it looks like this:

http://www.kernphotographyassociation.org/includes/javascript/infobox.js <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <TITLE>403 Forbidden</TITLE> </HEAD><BODY> <H1>Forbidden</H1> You don't have permission to access /includes/javascript/infobox.js on this server.<P> <P>Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. <HR> <ADDRESS>Apache/1.3.37 Server at kernphotographyassociation.org Port 80</ADDRESS> </BODY></HTML>

Herb, unless the files themselve have become corrupted, maybe you can check with your host or the person maintaining your servers.
Unless someone else in our fine community can provide some insight. Embarassed
