Can anyone tell me how this could be done? Thank you!

It's been over 4 years, does anyone know if this is possible?

Probably it is, but someone didn't write code for it yet?

If not, your only problem is MyBB passwords, these are:
md5(md5($salt).md5($password))

While i'm very busy with the new login system in v10 it still lacks support for these kinds of password storage.
I will work on it to support these as well.

Fedora 25 / Apache 2.4.27 / MariaDB 10.1.26 / PHP 7.1.10 / Mercurial

I've modified the new login system in v10 a bit.

Attached is a zip that should be extracted in: /includes/dragonfly/
Then you have 2 files:

/includes/dragonfly/mybb/login.php
This variant uses mybb passwords stored in the dragonfly database as "Dragonfly_MyBB_Login:$salt-$password"

/includes/dragonfly/mybb/auth.php
This completely overwrites the default database login.
Instead it will use the mybb_users table and copy data on the fly to the dragonfly users table (not recommended).

These are not finished NOR tested.
You must first convert the mybb users to get it all working.
This should give anyone a head start.
