Forum img tag not showing image Reply to topic

Hi,

I tried to insert image in forum with the image tag and with HTML is on and the image is not showing up. I'm clueless as to how to make this work. Any help is appreciated.

I finally get it to work. Wow BBCode is extremely sensitive, it will not work with an image whatsoever that have any space in the path.

I have this issue also with all photobucket issues.
It can't handle a space (or escaped %20) in link urls or image urls. If the image names or photobucket folder has no spaces the links work as normal. A replace function could be used to rewrite urls but i have a feeling it's a core function in the software that's messed up and is rewriting the urls wrong in the first place and writing them in plain text??

Yes could be. I would think this flaw is extremely obvious, surprise it is not fixed instantly.

Sorry, seems to have been moved.

Here's the link to show the change in CVS:

And here's a link to download the file from CVS:

Laughing Then take the download file and replace the file of the same name in includes/

To be safe rename your old one to something like nbbcode.orig.php just in case you need to go back.

just to clarify as the file doesn’t appear to resemble the code shown in the post, so I don’t want to just over right it.

The linked file shows just the changes: old and new - which would be the usual way if you knew how to use. So safer to go the whole file route.

To ensure they are referring to the same thing check the version number of each. Should be 9.46.2.7.

That's it fixed. Many thanks.

I know Sad and I reported it earlier. Doesn't appear to affect all sites, so it is DF version, theme. or ??? dependent.

My very unofficial fix which works for me is to comment out the 2 lines in nbbcode.php which handle actual spaces in the URL. It's ok as it still leaves the code which handles %20 which is what you need for photobucket etc.

Look for # code.. $patterns[] = "#\[img\](.*)\[/img\]#sie"; $replacements[] = "'[img]'.preg_replace('#\p{Zs}#u', '%20', '\\1').'[/img]'";

And replace with: # code.. // $patterns[] = "#\[img\](.*)\[/img\]#sie"; // $replacements[] = "'[img]'.preg_replace('#\p{Zs}#u', '%20', '\\1').'[/img]'";

That appears to have done the trick.

Many thanks once again.
