[solved] Guest user - Coppermine Gallery Reply to topic

I'm amazed if this hasn't been asked but I've searched and can't find any reference:

dragonfly.123v.com/ind...&pos=5

This is just a pic from my gallery of a certificate. As a guest you see two red icons, one to delete and one to edit. These are disabled and goto a 'You don't have permission to access this page.' message. I would prefer for them not to appear at all, even to registered users you do not own/have rights to the image.

I've trawled through the various CPG config screens but can find nothing.

Is this possible to make these disappear without hacking pages?

Dip into your theme and fine the appropriate template, suspect it is .../coppermine/display_image/image_comments.html

And wrap the images, or perhaps the whole BEGIN/END buttons part with something like:<!-- IF S_IS_USER --> ... <!-- ENDIF -->

You'll see an Admin example in .../coppermine/display_picture.html

Something is amiss - you're using SovereignBlue and those buttons do not appear for visitors on my copy of the theme.

Perhaps you have a permissions issue.

(btw I would keep IP Tracker out of sight)

I've tried using the code suggested by layingback and have temporarily switched back to default theme but still getting the E and X icons.

Would seem to suggest that it's a coppermine config problem but damned if I can see option..

May be related?? I cannot move blocks on coppermine. I move, select update but they just jump back to where they were. I don't have this problem with any other modules, just coppermine.

Who owns the album? It really sounds like you uploaded the pics as guest.

I simply cannot find a way to see those buttons (as guest or user) when viewing pics belonging to another registered user Confused

Pics are all owned by me, user_id 2

Cannot see any option or sql setting for ownership of albums.

It appears you uploaded the pics as admin while not logged in as user.

It's the only way that I can get buttons to appear to guests and other users.

That is certainly likely. Normally I have two browsers open. Firefox logged in as admin, SeaMonkey not logged in as anything (Guest)

Is there a fix for this? Can I assign the images to an owner?

Well I've assiged owner_id=2 and owner_name=123v and now everything behaving as it should. Carried out through phpMyAdmin.

Yes still have to remind myself of the admin/user cookie differential.
