Check your PHP error logs, it might be possible that your server upgraded PHP or made other changes and your very old scripts are failing. Remember you can choose error log location with ini_set() and set error_reporting to -1.

Find a place in cmsinit.inc, after most classes are loaded, to add this code. You need to modify the path to a file inside your home. It doesn't matter if the file doesn't exist, it will be created by the server.
