File permissions Reply to topic

Is there a list of recommended file permissions somewhere?
I'm going to rsync files to my webserver, but it's coming from ubuntu on Win10, so the permissions are all 777 essentially.
Is there a list of what the permissions should be?
I will use ssh in the script to chmod and chown after the rsync completes.

Can't you use the Package Manager?
Basically every file should be 644 and every directory 755

You are using a eSecureData dedicated server so you could set the right Apache user:group
That info can be seen at ?admin&op=info "Files Owner"

I use CVS because I have my own modifications.

I understand, but do you have modifications to the core files?
If so, you could share them and we may implement them or create events/hooks for it.
