Avatar upload from URL can't write file Reply to topic

I can upload an avatar from my computer OK, but when I try to upload from URL, I get this error:

CMS Error modules/Your_Account/avatars.php line 59: Could not write avatar to local storage

apache owns the directory, and obviously since I can upload from computer, the permissions are fine.

Looks like you have the same issue on this site.

Yep, found it in the error log:
PHP Warning includes/poodle/file/file.php line 209: mkdir(): File exists
Fixed in DVCS

Fedora 25 / Apache 2.4.27 / MariaDB 10.1.26 / PHP 7.1.10 / Mercurial

I did see that too, but figured it might have been trying to create the directory if it didn't exist already, so I didn't look any further.
I will try and pull the new version, thanks.
