I love the CPG-Nuke as it comes with the Coppermine Gallery pre-installed and save me the trouble to go through all the installation details.

I would also love it even more (as I need them more) if CPG-Nuke Forum has Sub Forum or Sub Category function like the Categories Hierarchy in phpBB mod or the phpBB2 for Post Nuke.

Is there a Sub Forum or Sub Category feature for CPG-Nuke forum or is there a mod. ?

Thank you.

Wait, when I looked at the phpBB and Coppermine forum, there seem to be a sub forum (or something like what I'm looking for) that split the topic into upper and lower part;
cpgnuke.com/Forums/vie.../f=33.html

The top part has 3 forums while the bottom is divided into annoucement and normal. Is there anyway to do it in this CPG-Nuke 8.2b version? How did you guys did the forum split then?

Thank you.

that hasn't been released yet ... this site has a few things not ready for release yet that the developers are testing, tweaking and fine tuning.

Wow that's a pretty fast reply, thank you. So is this what you have told me in your earlier post that it has been slated backwards for next release?

It's definatly something the developers want to accomplish but they've done so much already for the next release that at some point they have to decide enough is enough. The subforums is one of the bigger mods out there too.

The sub-forums work if you know how to "tweak" your database of our next release.

It won't work in 8.2 and it won't work properly on themes using the old template system.

There's only a few settings in the database to tweak (in the 8.3 CVS that is):

- cms_bbforums: parent_id field must contain the forum_id of the owner
- cms_bbforums: forum_type of the forum that has sub-forums must be set to 1

- cms_bbforums: if you wanna "link" to somewhere the forum_type must be set to:
2) using getlink() for creating the link
3) a global url like myotherdomain.com
and you insert the "link" in the forum_link field

Very Happy

does this mean, we cannot use subforums in 8.2 versions??? how sad...
