Okay this has happened on every upgrade I've done and advised the site owner to do on 9.0.5 and 9.0.6, without fail.

That count is currently at about 33 sites. This presents a problem if left in by making registrations fail. It is not consistant in failing a registration - my guess is that if they either add in information or not into the Location fields plays a part in whether it creates a sql error or not.

This evidently has been going on since 8.2b (I've seen it on 9.0.4, 9.0.5, and 9.0.6) - my comic uploader throws fits whenever someone uses an apostrophe and gives then a sql error which is then emailed to me, so this legit sql error was lost to my view admist all that so I was unaware that people weren't getting through the registration process until one day when 5 people tried and they ALL emailed me perosnally to inform me about the error they were getting that was telling them that the webmaster had been made aware (which I hadn't due to them being mixed with the reg errors the kids give me as a rsult of using characters they shouldn't) and had they not emailed me, I'd never have realized that.

Every install I checked after that had the same issue.

These fields were *not* there before the install.

This *does* affect member registration - in some cases nearly 98% fail is my estimate from the site info I've viewed and been allowed to view. I'd say not only is this a bug, it's kinda vital.
